Bath Towel

A hooded towel is one of the simplest but most-loved bath time essentials, wrapping a baby snugly from head to toe the moment they come out of the water — a genuinely important detail, since babies lose body heat quickly once wet skin meets air. Zubaida's hooded towel collection focuses on soft, highly absorbent towels designed specifically for this quick, cosy post-bath moment.

The built-in hood is the defining feature that separates a baby hooded towel from a standard bath towel: it covers the head immediately after lifting a baby from the tub, reducing heat loss from the head (which accounts for a disproportionate amount of a baby's heat loss compared to an adult) while keeping both hands free for the parent to dry and hold the baby securely.

What makes a good hooded towel:

- Soft, highly absorbent fabric such as cotton terry or bamboo-cotton blends, which dry a baby quickly without harsh rubbing

- A generously sized main towel body, large enough to fully wrap a squirming, wet baby

- A soft-lined hood that sits comfortably without feeling heavy or restrictive

- Colourfast prints and stitching that hold up to frequent washing, since towels are used daily

Fabric choice affects both comfort and practicality. Cotton terry is the most common and reliable choice, offering good absorbency and gentle texture against sensitive newborn skin.

Bamboo-cotton blends, increasingly available in this collection, are prized for being slightly softer and more naturally antibacterial, though they typically come at a higher price point than standard cotton terry.

A frequently asked question is how many hooded towels a family actually needs. Since towels need to be fully dry before reuse and babies bathe daily (sometimes more than once with

spit-up incidents), most parents keep at least 2-3 in rotation to avoid using a still-damp towel, which can feel unpleasant against sensitive skin and doesn't dry as effectively.

Hooded towels pair naturally with our baby bath tub collection for a complete bath setup, and with a soft changing mat for the diaper change that follows drying. For the full bath time range, browse our Bath Time hub.
