Bedding

Once a baby transitions from a Moses basket or carry nest into a full-size cot, cot bedding becomes the next essential purchase — and Zubaida's cot bedding collection offers coordinated sets designed to make this transition comfortable and visually complete. A typical set includes a fitted sheet, a cot bumper or breathable liner, and sometimes a matching quilt or coverlet, all in prints and colours suited to a nursery theme.

Cot bedding safety is worth understanding before purchasing, since infant sleep guidance has evolved significantly around loose bedding. Current safe-sleep recommendations generally advise against thick quilts, pillows, or loose blankets inside a cot for babies under 12 months, due to suffocation risk — a firm, well-fitted mattress with just a fitted sheet is the safest baseline setup for young infants. Decorative bedding pieces like bumpers and coverlets are more appropriate as nursery décor around the cot exterior, or for supervised use once a baby is older and more mobile, rather than left in the cot during unsupervised sleep for very young infants.

What's typically included in a cot bedding set:

- A fitted sheet sized to the cot mattress

- A breathable cot bumper or liner (decorative use; follow current safe-sleep guidance for infant age)

- A coordinating quilt, coverlet, or blanket for use outside of unsupervised sleep time, or for older babies

- Some sets include matching curtains or wall hangings for a complete nursery look

Choosing a print or colour scheme is often one of the more enjoyable parts of nursery setup — Zubaida's cot bedding is available in gender-neutral, boy-themed, and girl-themed prints, ranging from soft pastels to bolder patterns like galaxy or chevron designs, letting parents match their existing nursery décor rather than starting from scraCot bedding pairs naturally with a properly sized mattress set — always confirm the bedding set matches your cot's exact mattress dimensions before purchase, since ill-fitting sheets can bunch or come loose, posing a safety risk. For the earlier newborn stage before a cot transition, our carry nest and Moses basket collections are the more age-appropriate starting point.
