Carry Nest

A carry nest — also known as a baby nest or co-sleeper pod — is a compact, cushioned sleep space designed specifically for the newborn stage, giving babies a snug, womb-like feeling that a full-size cot can't replicate in the first weeks. Zubaida's carry nest collection is built around this exact need, offering portable, breathable nests that can move easily from room to room.

Unlike a full cot, a carry nest is lightweight and portable enough to place on a parent's bed for supervised co-sleeping-style closeness, on a sofa during the day so a napping baby stays nearby, or in a travel bag for visits to family — a genuinely practical feature for Pakistani households where extended family visits with a newborn are common in the first months.

Why parents choose a carry nest over a full cot early on:

- The raised, cushioned sides create a contained feeling that many newborns settle into more easily than the open space of a cot

- Portability means the baby can safely nap in whichever room the family is using during the day

- A smaller sleep space is easier to keep at a consistent, safe temperature than a large empty cot

- Most nests come with a removable, washable cover for easy cleaning after the frequent spit-up and leaks common in early infancy

An important safety note that responsible sellers should always communicate: carry nests are designed for supervised use, not for unsupervised overnight sleep on an adult bed, due to the risk of the nest shifting or a caregiver rolling into the space. Always follow the manufacturer's guidance for placement — on a firm, flat surface, away from pillows, loose bedding, or soft furnishings that could pose a suffocation risk.

Carry nests are typically used from birth until around 3-4 months, or until the baby becomes more mobile and starts pushing against the sides — at which point transitioning to a full cot with a dedicated mattress set and bedding is recommended. Many parents pair a carry nest with a head shaping pillow for additional support, or choose a Moses basket instead as a similarly portable alternative with a more traditional woven-basket structure.
